Category: DTC ecommerce, at-home therapeutic devices (NMES foot, knee and whole-body massagers).

Project Health
Overview
Nooro sells at-home therapeutic devices, NMES foot, knee and whole-body massagers, to people managing everyday pain and recovery. Founded in 2022, it scaled quickly into a high-volume DTC brand doing millions of site visits a year, which gives the design one relentless job: turn cold traffic into confident buyers.
I worked on Nooro as an assisting designer at JAH Creative Agency, contributing to the conversion-focused pages and creative that carry that traffic, the sales and product experiences where a visitor decides whether to trust a health device with their body and their money.

The Problem
Selling a health device to cold traffic is a trust problem before it is a design problem. Visitors arrive skeptical, does it work, is it safe, is this brand legitimate, and a wellness purchase carries more hesitation than a typical ecommerce buy. At Nooro’s scale, even small clarity and trust improvements compound across millions of visits.
How might we turn skeptical, first-time visitors into confident buyers of an at-home health device, at the scale of millions of sessions?
Constraints
Conversion-first: every page earns its place against hard performance metrics.
High-trust category: health claims, safety and credibility have to be handled carefully and clearly.
Mobile-dominant DTC traffic, the experience is designed phone-first.
Brand consistency across a growing product line and a large volume of pages and creative.
Research & Insights
Grounded in the brand’s performance context and the conventions of high-converting DTC wellness. Three reads shaped the work:
Trust is the conversion lever: reviews, guarantees, demonstrations and a clear mechanism do more than persuasion copy.
Wellness buyers need the ‘how it works’ made visible, NMES and red-light therapy are unfamiliar and have to be shown, not just claimed.
At this scale, clarity beats cleverness: legible hierarchy and fast comprehension outperform novelty.
Goals & Objectives
Support pages that convert cold traffic into buyers through clarity and trust.
Make the product mechanism and benefits immediately legible.
Surface trust signals, reviews, guarantee, demonstrations, where hesitation peaks.
Keep the visual system consistent as the product line and page volume grew.
Process
Working alongside the JAH Creative team, I contributed to the design of conversion-focused sales and product pages and supporting creative, building from the brand’s system, prioritising the trust and clarity moments that move a wellness buyer, and iterating pages against performance.
Key Design Decisions
1. Trust before persuasion
Lead with proof: reviews, the guarantee and demonstrations, rather than claims alone, because in a health category credibility is what converts.
2. Show the mechanism
Make NMES and red-light therapy visible so an unfamiliar technology feels credible instead of gimmicky.
3. Phone-first hierarchy
Design for the mobile-dominant traffic that actually converts, so the trust and clarity moments land on the smallest screen first.
4. Systemised consistency
Reusable patterns so a large, fast-growing volume of pages stays unmistakably on-brand.
The Solution
Conversion-focused sales and product experiences for Nooro’s device line, pages that explain an unfamiliar therapy simply, stack the trust signals a health purchase needs, and hold together as one brand across a fast-growing catalogue.
Results & Impact
The work supported a brand operating at serious DTC scale, roughly 3 million annual site visits and over 7,700 customer reviews, where design directly carries the conversion load. Contributing to that surface, as an assisting designer at JAH Creative, meant working on pages that thousands of buyers moved through every day.
Reflections
What I took from it: designing at real commercial scale, where trust and clarity are measured in conversion, not taste.
What I’d explore next: structured A/B testing of trust-signal placement to quantify the lift.
Working under an agency taught me to design inside a system and a performance bar, not just a canvas.

Having Lawrence work under my agency made me money as an efficient designer he is, helped me retain my status as a Top 4% upwork agency and I can't be any less proud of him. Under me he learnt framer just so we could get more jobs and he delivered.

Lawrence is a professional through and through. He has been an absolute pleasure to work with, taking in account all of our needs while meeting expectations. I would 100 percent recommend Lawrence for any developmental design needs. If you are hesitating, don't, you won't regret it.
Drew Levin
Co-founder of SideShift
Lawrence worked hand in hand with me and Nick Lawton to get the first version of our site out the door, staying flexible through every change we needed. His cooperation is a big reason we could launch on time and begin major operations. A designer who listens closely and delivers.
